Ted “Buddy” Knife, known by his Lakota name Gle Ung Ku, is a respected leader and dedicated public servant from the Red Scaffold community on the Cheyenne River Reservation. A proud member of the Ho Hwo Sju band, one of the four Lakota bands of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, he has devoted many years to serving his people and strengthening his community.
Representing District 2, Ted “Buddy” Knife is currently serving his fifth term as a District Representative, a reflection of the trust and confidence that community members have placed in his leadership. Throughout his time in office, he has worked to advocate for the needs of families in his district, as well as others, by supporting initiatives that promote cultural preservation, community development, and the well-being of future generations.
As a representative, Buddy Knife has remained committed to the traditional Lakota values of respect, responsibility, and service to the people. His work reflects a deep connection to his heritage and a strong dedication to ensuring that the voices of the Red Scaffold community are heard in the tribal leadership.
Through continued service and leadership, Ted “Buddy” Knife strives to uphold the values of the Lakota people and contribute to a stronger future for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
